Finding New Perspective

Have you ever had one of those days where you're running around trying to do everything for everyone? The more there is to do the less you end up getting done. You end up overwhelmed and feel like you're chasing your own tail. There's a good chance your mind and body are trying to send you a message. If you're anything like me, your instinct is to dig in and double down but there's a better way. What your mind and body are telling you is it's time to take a break, step away and give yourself time to process. As counter-intuitive as it may seem pushing harder may actually make things worse. Our brain needs time to process information. When we are are not rested the decision process takes longer and if we're exhausted, still longer yet. Refusing to take personal time and time for growth will cause our work to suffer. Time to reflect allows us to time find a new perspective and apply new logic to situations that otherwise leave us stagnated.  Next you're feeling overwhelmed give yourself a break you may be surprised at how much easier it is to make decisions with a clearer perspective.
